Welcome to Graceful Lament, an online community that provides graphics and designs to the public free of charge. We strive to help new designers to learn all about webdesign, and provide valuable resources to established designers. Hosting

We provide free hosting and file sponsoring. Why? We remember back when we first started, how much we struggled to find a free host. Since now we are all establish, we wish to give back to this community we so love by helping the ones in need.

Everything is and will be free.

General Rules

1. No illegal content. Keep it friendly to everyone, meaning friendly to my 11-year-old friend.

2. Your site must be written in English.

3. Link back to Graceful Lament must be VISIBLE on EVERY page.

4. Let us know if you are closing or moving.

5. You will have a storage / bandwidth quota. If you feel you will need more, ask us. As long as you are using them properly, we can garantee that you will get it.

6. Never use the space for anything that's not related to your website. Meaning, don't use your space for your forum signature, or music download, etc.

7. Never give your FTP access to anyone other than you. If you get accepted, YOU are the person we trust to host, not your friend who we don't know.

If you violate any of the above, we are sorry, we have the right to stop sponsoring / hosting you.

8. If you have sites of other nature, you may always suggest it to us through email.

Show us some sample work to let us know that you know what you are doing (whether it's designs, resources, or portfolio items).

Sponsoring

You will get 300MB space and 5GB bandwidth, along with 1 FTP account to begin with. You may always ask for more if needed. MySQL can be provided upon request.

One additional rule: place an index file in your root folder to protect your directory.

Subdomain Hosting

The space and bandwidth depends on your needs. You may request for up to 300MB space and 5GB bandwidth for the first time. You may always ask for more if needed. If you are moving from another server and you know your site is already bigger than 300MB, ask for as much as you need. In addition, you get 1 FTP account. MySQL databases and emails are available upon request. You will also get a you.graceful-lament.com subdomain.

As well, if you become a subdomain hostee, you may upgrade to a domain hostee any time you want.

Domain Hosting

We will get everything a subdomain hostee gets and follow the same rules. If you want to be hosted on a domain, we just ask you for one thing --- get your own domain.

Place Your Request

Due to spamming, we took off the request form. You will have to email us to apply for sponsoring / hosting.

Indicate in your email:

- your name

- email

- desired domain / subdomain

- whether you want sponsoring / subdomain hosting / domain

- desired user name & password for FTP and/or MySQL

- desired storage & bandwidth

- give a brief description of your site and / or show us if it is currently hosted elsewhere.

- include sample works
